When Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway went to present the 2017 Academy Award for Best Picture last night, somehow Warren ended up with the envelope for Best Actress, which said Emma Stone, La La Land. In fact, he was supposed to have an envelope that proclaimed Moonlight the best film of the year. If you didn’t hear about the epic mix up at this year’s Oscars, Twitter will fill you in.
First, there was the comparison to this year’s presidential election.

Miss Universe and Steve Harvey also got in on the conversation, before anyone else could call them out. Then people started calling them out.

Good morning everybody! Went to sleep early last night. So… what I miss? #Oscars

Of course, the comparison between the ending of La La Land and this mix up.

Remember at the end of La La Land where it shows the happy ending but then it's snatched away? And it's nighttime? And there's MOONLIGHT?!

As well as the comparison to the first overtime Super Bowl in NFL history.
I can't believe the Super Bowl and the Oscars were both decided in overtime for the first time this year.

World Series, election, Super Bowl, Oscars… matrix is feeling very glitchy these days. Honestly, I'd love for something to just be boring.

The election, the Super Bowl and the Oscars are like a collective slap in the face to people who like to turn in early.

And we’ll finish up with these miscellaneous gems about the whole thing.

Oh no, we read the wrong thing twice, the actual winner is that commercial where the dog dresses up as a lion to make friends with the baby.

Suicide Squad has more Oscars than La La Land.
